Prepared properly, finished by hand

Good decorating is mostly preparation. Before any colour goes on, we protect your floors and furniture, fill cracks and dents with flexible filler, and sand everything smooth so the finish lies flat and even.

We paint walls and ceilings by brush and roller in matt, vinyl matt, sheen or silk. Woodwork is filled with two-part wood filler, primed and undercoated, then finished in satinwood, eggshell or gloss. Cutting in is done by eye, which is what gives you crisp lines at cornicing, skirting and around switches.

Not sure about colours? Reggie is happy to talk through options on site and help you choose shades that work together across a hallway, a landing or a whole floor.

Questions

Painting & decorating: common questions

How long does it take to decorate a room?

A typical bedroom takes two to three days including preparation, drying time and two coats. Hallways, stairs and landings usually take longer because of the height and the amount of woodwork. We give you a timeline with your quote.

Do I need to move furniture out?

No. We move what we can to the middle of the room and cover everything with dust sheets and protective film. It helps if small items and ornaments are packed away before we arrive.

Which paint finish should I choose?

Matt or vinyl matt suits most walls and ceilings. Kitchens and bathrooms benefit from a more wipeable finish. For woodwork, satinwood is the popular middle ground; eggshell is flatter and gloss is the most hard-wearing. We'll recommend what fits each room.

Do you supply the paint?

We can supply trade paint or use the brand and colours you have chosen. Just let us know when we quote.
